Resolutions

Resolutions are easier to keep if you share them with friends. My wife and I took a short working vacation to the Texas Hill Country to plan our goals for 2010. My primary goal is to launch a private beta of Wisp before the end of the year, preferably before this years Unite. Some of my other goals for the year are to read 52 books (finished 26 last year), exercise (Monday through Friday), and practice drawing (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). What are your goals for 2010?

I just finished the networking engine for Wisp and have begun work on the AI layer. After the AI layer is complete I'll have finished the main technical components of Wisp and part of the gameplay. There will still be plenty to be done but I'll have a solid foundation to build on.

  2. Fifty-two books?!

I think I read about 5.2 books last year. Do magazines, advertizing mail from JC Penny's and cruising the web in search of odd subjects like "Glenn Beck's Gretest Insights", "Why Blame Canada?" and old transcripts of Muppet Opera count as books?

  3. Hehehe no cheating :). I try to read at least one book a week. The trick is to cut down on TV and keep a book handy at *all* times :). I listen while driving, read ebooks on my iPod, Mac and PC, and have print books around the house. I'm usually reading a few books in parallel so that I don't get bored. The iPod has been the real time saver, all those little 5-15 minute gaps of free time add up :)

  4. 52 books and a beta version of Wisp? For me it's just get better at tennis. The only books I read are the ones required for school.
